District Conference via Zoom link WASH Focus 5810’s Chuck Eisemann has worked on the Water, Sanitation and Hygiene task force and assumes the Chairmanship of that valuable effort for RI. He will share what they are doing , especially as sanitation and hygiene take even more importance with Covid-19 implications. Then Darren Collins, DeSoto RC member who lives in Kenya, has produced a commercial using his puppets to teach proper hand washing. Karen Rhodes-Whitley, is currently the Director of Budget & Research for the City of Plano, Texas, and has over 35 years of financial budgeting experience. She has been with the City of Plano for 30 years, 22 of which she has served as the Budget Director. In addition to her Budget duties, she is currently the Program Co-Chair for GFOAT and is a on the CORBA Committee with GFOA. She is also Past-President of the Government Financial Officers Association of Texas and past member of the Economic Development and Capital Planning Committee and Budget Committee for the National Government Financial Officers Association plus is a Budget Reviewer. Karen holds a BBA from the University of Texas at Austin and an MPA from the University of Texas at Dallas. She is also a Certified Public Manager and a Registered Tax Assessor/Collector. She also serves as an Associate Director of the Institute of Public Finance Certificate Program through Texas Tech University. She has been a speaker on various budget and capital project topics at GFOA, GFOAT, TML and ICMA Conferences. In November 2014, she received the 2014 Outstanding Service Award from the Government Finance Officers Association of Texas. |

PDG, Beverly Grogan, 2019 - 2020 will be our guest on 16Sep2020 - to talk with us about Club Membership. Beverly Grogan has served in Rotary for 16 years. She has served in many positions in her club, Grand Prairie metro rotary, was also served District 5810 in a variety Of roles, including Community service Chair, Assistant Governor, rotary International Leadership institute chair and facilitator. She had the privilege of serving the District as District Governor in 2019-2020. This year she is serving as Rotary leadership institute chair, a new course for 5810 and Is on the District membership committee. YES - This is a re-ply and Thanks to PDG Beverly for taking time to visit with us. SORRY - we do have a last minute change - NOW - our guest will be on accounting & PDG Beverly will be with us soon.
